Gillian Alexandra Kalisky is an American fine art photographer living in London. Born and raised in the flat farmland of California’s Central Valley, which has a clear influence on her work, Gillian went on to study photography at New York University and then moved to Paris where she worked in fashion photography. Since moving to London, Gillian completed a postgraduate degree in photography from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design and is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree in Documentary Photography at the University of Wales, Newport. Gillian continues to work as a freelance photographer and artist.
Gillian’s work is held in several private collections, as well as the collection of the University of the Arts London. She has worked on commissions for clients such as Vogue Italia, Central Saint Martins, Ugg Australia and Sub Pop Records, and has exhibited in the Brighton Biennial Fringe Festival and in other venues. Most recently, her work was featured on Landscapestories.net and Letter to Jane Magazine. In 2011 Gillian was awarded the prestigious TPA Bursary to further work on her MFA project "i could go on forever listing things i love" (read an interview with Gillian about the project here). The work will be published as a limited edition book in 2012.
